Happy almost Halloween! This Tricks or Treats challenge was where I had to be a little creative as I did not have any Halloween stamps. I toured what I had and saw that one of the Stamps from Decorative Trees Dies (pg. 42 of the Holiday Mini) looked like a tree that was made to hold decorations. Then I looked for a set that had small pumps and the More Than Autumn Dies (pg. 49 of the Holiday Mini) had just what I needed. But I didn’t want all the “hooks” of the tree to be filled with pumpkins. While deciding if I wanted the apple I saw the little blob that looked like a ghost to me (but it is actually the whipping cream topper for the slice of pie.) Whew! the hard part was done. The card needed more than the tree. I used the Basic Black marker to draw the faces on the ghosts and the pumpkins. Then used the piercing point of the Pick Me Up Tool to punch a hole in each element and then slipped them on each hook of the tree. For the background of the card on basic white I once again used the blending with glycerin technique. The inks I used were Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green. Still it needed something. No Halloween sentiments, but wait, we have letter dies. Boo! was the word of choice. A simple card that used dies in a totally different manner than they were designed.
