Another fun sketch at Atlantic Hearts. For me this sketch was red, white and blue all the way! Just in time for the 4th of July. This year we celebrate 250 years! WOW! I love the fireworks and getting together with family and friends. Check out what the other designers created by clicking here for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch.
The technique I used for the fireworks was the marker direct to the stamp and then spritz with water. Since I did not have any fireworks stamps I looked through my catalog an found a stamp set I though could work which was Impressions Abloom. I used two of the lined stamps, the large flower and the mid-sized flower. Loved how it turned out. The inks I chose were from the Regals Marker Collection, Real Red and Blueberry Bushel. Those are the only colors on the card. I used one of the new Ephemera packs called Good Times Mix & Max. The pie pan was colored with the Blueberry Bushel Dark Blends and then three of the hearts from that same pack were used as the fruit topper. I colored the Starburst Sequins with the Dark Real Red and Dark Blueberry Bushel blends.
So the stamped strips stood out I colored the edges with the Real Red and Blueberry Bushel markers. For the middle white strip I layered it on a piece of Basic White cardstock. My interpretation. I used one of the circles from the Spotlight on Nature dies and cut it out of the Neutrals 6×6 DSP. I really like how this all transpired and I hope you do also.
Come play along with this sketch! A time to celebrate our Nations Birthday and have some creative fun at the same time.
